Introducing PS Horology

After taking a break from the watchmaking world for eight years, Peter Speake, known for his earlier brand Speake-Marin, is back with his latest endeavor, PS Horology.

His debut collection showcases two exquisite models: the Tsuba Blue, which draws inspiration from the elegance of Japanese culture, and the Tsuba Dong Son, influenced by the rich heritage of Vietnam.

Speake founded PS Horology three years ago, marking a new chapter in his career.

His experience is extensive, having honed his craft during a four-year stint at Renaud & Papi.

He has also contributed to “The Naked Watchmaker,” an educational platform for watch enthusiasts, collaborating with top-tier brands like Harry Winston and MB&F along the way.

The Tsuba Collection

The Tsuba collection pays homage to the traditional “tsuba,” the handguard found on Japanese swords.

This design element not only provides protection but also serves as a counterbalance within the watch’s aesthetics.

Crafted from high-quality 316L stainless steel, the cases combine both quince and octagonal shapes, thanks to the innovative work of designer Darren Jones.

Each case is meticulously finished through a five-stage process, resulting in dimensions of around 38.3mm in diameter and 8.91mm in thickness.

With a water resistance rating of 30 meters, these watches are as functional as they are stylish.

The Tsuba Blue stands out with its striking sapphire dial, elegantly surrounded by a floating anodized metal structure.

On the other hand, the Tsuba Dong Son, created at the request of a Vietnamese retailer, features intricate 18k gold concentric symbols inspired by the bronze-age Dong Son drums.

The hands of this piece take the form of traditional Vietnamese weapons, showcasing a deep cultural connection.

The Tsuba Dong Son also celebrates the 2024 centennial of the rediscovery of the Dong Son civilization and pays tribute to the 80th anniversary of modern Vietnam.

Both models are powered by the sleek Vaucher Calibre 5401 movement, offering a robust 48-hour power reserve.
