Introduction to the Lady Solotempo BVS100
Bulgari is stepping into a new realm with its latest automatic movement, amplifying the charm of its legendary Serpenti watch line.
This innovation is not only a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence but also paves the way for future collections tailored for women.
As we enter the 2025 watch season, the highly anticipated LVMH Watch Week was set for January 21 to 24 in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, the event was canceled due to the devastating wildfires in the area.
However, Bulgari continues to thrive, recently announcing the debut of the Lady Solotempo BVS100 mechanical automatic calibre, which will be integrated into both the Serpenti Seduttori and Serpenti Tubogas models.
Features of the Lady Solotempo
While Bulgari’s ultra-thin Octo Finissimo calibres have received extensive acclaim, there is a growing fascination for mechanical movements specifically designed for women’s watches.
A couple of years ago, the brand introduced the Piccolissimo, a tiny yet intricately crafted movement incorporated into select high-jewellery Serpenti Misteriosi Secret Watch models.
Currently, the Serpenti collection features mechanical movements only in the exquisite Misteriosi pieces and the ultra-compact tourbillon seen in the Serpenti Seduttori, which holds the title of the smallest tourbillon movement ever created to complement the Serpenti’s distinct design.
With a vision to broaden access to mechanical watches for women, the Lady Solotempo BVS100 is delightfully compact, sporting a circular design with a diameter of just 19mm and a slim 3.90mm thickness.
This new time-only movement is a result of over three years of dedicated development at Bulgari’s advanced facility in Le Sentier, showcasing the brand’s expertise in producing automatic movements, including the Solotempo BVL191 and the ultra-thin Finissimo models.
Light as a feather at only 5 grams, it boasts an impressive power reserve of 50 hours.
While its initial presence is within the Serpenti family, this movement holds promise for future women’s ranges and might even find a home in other LVMH watch brands through collaboration with Zenith.
Collection Highlights
The Lady Solotempo’s inaugural appearances will be within the storied Serpenti lineup—an iconic emblem that has captured the hearts of women since the 1940s.
The launch features seven variations of the beloved 34mm Serpenti Seduttori, incorporating hours, minutes, and seconds functions, alongside two 35mm Serpenti Tubogas models focusing on hours and minutes.
At the forefront is a striking yellow gold Serpenti Seduttori (ref. 103898), complete with transparent sapphire crystal casebacks that reveal the artistry of the new movement and its elegantly crafted rotor, reminiscent of serpent scales.
The newly designed 34mm Serpenti Seduttori showcases unique single-tour bracelets made from soft hexagonal scales, ensuring both fluidity and style.
These captivating models sport the Lady Solotempo BVS100 calibre and are adorned with diamond-set bezels, complemented by a flexible bracelet featuring a secure folding clasp.
Among the offerings, the flagship yellow gold Serpenti Seduttori (ref. 103898) epitomizes what this new movement represents.
The collection spans from high-jewellery dreams to practical stainless steel and two-tone selections.
