The year 2024 has been nothing short of extraordinary for the watch industry, and it holds a special place in our hearts at Time+Tide.
Rather than our usual Friday Wind Down articles, I want to take the opportunity to reflect on some of the year’s standout events, breaking it down into notable moments month by month.
While there’s so much more to discuss, I’ll strive to keep this recap succinct and insightful.

January: A Decade of Time+Tide
We kicked off the year by celebrating a remarkable milestone—Time+Tide’s 10th anniversary.
To mark this occasion, we hosted five days of events that brought together the vibrant Melbourne watch community.
We launched three exclusive timepieces: the Baltic x Time+Tide Hermétique Night Mode, the Furlan Marri x Time+Tide Outback Elegy, and the Studio Underd0g x Time+Tide Hand Delivered “pizza watch.” The “pizza watch” especially caught the media’s attention and became one of the year’s most talked-about pieces.
June: IWC’s Record-Breaking Achievement
In June, the IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar emerged as a top contender for the best watch of the year.
Known for its impressive features, including a perpetual calendar that remains accurate for 400 years, it earned a Guinness World Record for being the most precise lunar phase wristwatch, highlighting its masterful craftsmanship.
November: A Meaningful Collaboration
In November, the Time+Tide x TAG Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph ‘Sundowner’ stood out as a personal favorite.
Given TAG Heuer’s deep connection with the Australian market, the rapid sell-out of this piece was both gratifying and telling of its success.
